This is a perfect Spring walk in the beautiful countryside around Montgomery. It takes around an hour at a leisurly pace and only has a few very gentle up hill sections and a couple of stiles.

A good place to park for the start of the walk is the parking area just off Princes Street. You will see a play park and reycling bins on the left.

At the end of the carpark there is a footpath leading out towards the field in front of you. This is the start of the walk. Continue along this path and past the Montgomery wetland on your right. Go through a gate and turn left to follow the hedge along the left hand side of the field. Keep going until you come to a far gate. Turn right onto the Lymore Estate road.

You will walk on this road for about 3/4 mile going past Montgomery Cricket Club on your left and into wooded countryside beyond. If you’ve timed this walk right you will see Bluebells in the woods on your left. Eventually you will come to a cattle grid, small gate and Offers Dyke signpost. Turn left after the cattle grid and keep the hedge on your left handside as you walk alongside the field.

As you walk along the field you will be looking out overundulating countryside towards Corndon Hill. Follow the path through more wooded areas with Bluebells, crossing over three more stiles. After the third stile follow the path to the left keeping the wooded area to your left. You will see Montgomery church spire in the distance.

Follow the path straight on and cross over a small foot bridge. Keeping the field boundary on your left continue through the field. Drop down and cross over a further stile. You will see a farm track heading to the top of the field. Follow this onto a tarmaked road and turn left. You will now beable to see Lymore Lake.

Follow the road until you reach the gate on your right that takes you back over the fields to the carpark.
