Moonrise Lodges are positioned perfectly on our family farm to enjoy spectacular views and have access to some of it’s most beautiful corners. Our private lake is just a 5-minute stroll along the lane from your lodge; retreat to the lakeside and spend quality time with your friends or family, whilst indulging in a spot of fly fishing or just bobbing about in the rowing boat!
Perched on the edge of the lake is a rustic fishing lodge, fully equipped with electric heaters, camping chairs and a camping stove to make tasty hot drinks. So, if fly fishing isn’t for you, you can sit beside the lake with a cup of tea, a good book and watch the world go by.
Our private lake provides a plethora of opportunities for fly fishing; spend those lazy summer days camped out by the lake with a cold beverage in hand, reeling in our wonderful wild trout. This peaceful location is the ideal setting for a spot of fishing, with only the sounds of fishing lines swooping through the air and fish leaping from the water audible.
Beech Lake was created as a small water trout fishery back in 2010. The water is remarkably pure, producing the perfect environment for trout to thrive. The lake is positively teeming with fascinating wildlife, including swarms of damselflies and mayflies. Reel in one of our 15-inch, 2lb wild brown trout; or if you’re lucky, you may even catch one of our 1-1½lb rainbow trout!
Fishing at the lake is relatively easy, offering plenty of opportunities for beginners and more experienced anglers. Fly fishing is exclusive to our lodge guests, costing just £15 per day for 2 rods. Prices can be negotiated if taking fish for the “pot”.
* Please observe the following rules whilst fishing at our lake: fly fishing only with a single fly. Debarbed hooks must be used, and we have a strict catch-and-return policy. No wading in the lake. Bring your own fly-fishing tackle.
Cast away all your troubles at Moonrise Lodges! We wish you the best of luck on your angling adventure.
